All things being equal, most people prefer to hang out and make friends with people who are pleasant and easy to get on with. This is true of adults as well as kids.

Being objectionable, unnecessarily argumentative, sullen, unfriendly, prickly, bossy, difficult to be around, boring, self-absorbed or rude are unlikely to help you make friends or influence people.

We all have our bad days and moments of ungraciousness, I'm not talking about those - it's your default demeanour that counts.

Are you someone people like and want to be around?

If you don't think so, it's worth considering if your behaviour and attitude is a factor.
